Smithfield Building - Manchester

Located within the historic Smithfield Building in Manchester, this project involved the sensitive reconfiguration of a listed two-bedroom apartment to create an additional bedroom, transforming the property into a highly desirable three-bedroom home.

Working within the constraints of a heritage asset, the design carefully balanced the preservation of the building's character with the requirements of contemporary urban living. Through a strategic reorganisation of the internal layout, we maximised the use of existing floor space while maintaining generous living areas, natural light, and the architectural integrity of the apartment.

The intervention not only improved the functionality and market appeal of the property but also significantly enhanced its value. According to Nationwide's research, converting a two-bedroom property into a three-bedroom home can increase property value by approximately 20% on average.
